You will be working alongside our welfare assistant helping with the following.

  • Oversee/toilet dogs who are resting from training
  • Prepare and provide advised enrichment.
  • General maintenance/cleaning of resting areas/equipment
  • Cleaning of dogs bedding/toys etc
  • Administering medication/routine flea and worming
  • Setting up the dogs resting areas and using calming products within the dog area as advised
  • Cleaning the relief area

As your experience increases you may also be asked to help with

  • Transitioning/settling dogs into their resting areas
  • Health/weight checks
  • Grooming sessions
  • Vet visits
  • Assisting with basic training as and when required

This is a good opportunity for someone who would like to gain hands on experience, and who wishes to pursue a career in assistance dog training.

As there will be periods where the dogs just need to be left to rest, the role will also have a large amount to time where you will be free to get on with you own work while minding the dogs. So this might ideally suit someone who is studying or who works using a laptop.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
